Reg Bendixen…father, husband, grandfather, teacher of God’s word, pastor, apostle, friend, author and the most gentle and kind man we have been privileged to know.
The Family

earlyReginald John Edwin Bendixen born 27-11 1936…passed into eternal living with Father God on the 13 -08 – 2012. He was dedicated to the Lord Jesus by the Smith Wiggelsworth and sat at the feet of John G. Lakes ministry as a boy.

Reg… as he was known, was born in Krugersdorp and attended school at Krugersdorp High. His family later moved to Brakpan where they attended the assemblies of God church.
He also met his first wife Willa in that church and later moved to the Copperbelt in ‘northern Rhodesia’/ Zambia after they were married, where their son John was born. This is also where Reg began his ministry in 1960.

They then briefly moved to ‘Southern Rhodesia’ / Zimbabwe, where their daughter Stella was born and then on to Roodepoort in South Africa as fulltime Pastor of the Assemblies of God in that town. Aside from the beginning of his ministry in Roodepoort, it was also at this time that his naturalized son Adrian joined the family.

regandsonReg was always kind, gentle, considerate, temperate and liberal with his time for others.
He was a man of his word and honored Jesus Christ as his savior and Lord.
He loved the bush and would welcome any opportunity to visit the Kruger National Park and surrounding areas.
In addition to being an author, Reg was an avid reader and student of Gods word and of other writings by men who wrote about God and the church.

After his first wife died he met and married his life long partner Linda. Reg was both dedicated and devoted to Linda and his sons in marriage Craig and Justin.

regbotswanapreachAs a minster, Reg was first passionate about the local church and about planting new churches around South Africa and releasing young ministers into the fulltime work of God. He defied apartheid laws to build relationships with his brothers of different colour and culture and pioneered new thinking in church doctrines. Later in his ministry, he gave his time and dedication to teaching about the great treasure of Gods life in the human vessel.

In the last 15 years of his life Reg worked with his son John in Jerry Savelle Minstries, and then preaching and establishing Heritage of Faith churches and last but not least, contributed significantly to the success of Heritage of Faith Bible Institute, leadership Academy and School of Ministry

The Reg Bendixen Foundation, in honour of his life will be used to sponsor bible school students and develop leaders and churches in Africa
